SP seeks inventory of trees
BY CHRYSEE SAMILLANO

A resolution requesting the Bacolod Housing Authority to require all subdivision owners and developers to submit an inventory or plan of all the trees planted in their subdivision projects was approved by the Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod Wednesday.

This is in compliance with laws and is a pre-requisite for final approval of subdivision projects in Bacolod City.

The resolution said the inventory or plan should be certified by the Environment and Natural Resources Office.

It said the Local Government Code of 1991 provides for the establishment, maintenance, protection and conservation of communal forest and water sheds, tree parks, greenbelts, mangroves and other similar forest development projects.

The resolution added that every owner of an existing subdivision is required among others to plant trees in designated areas as provided in Batas Pambansa 220.

The resolution was authored by Councilor Catalino Alisbo.*CGS
