Dumaguete-based fictionist and poet Cesar Ruiz Aquino will give a lecture on his aesthetics titled “The Deer, The Tower & The Lunatic: Literary Ideas I've Treasured as a Writer," 10:15 a.m. today at the Dioscoro Rabor Lecture Hall of Silliman University, a press release from the school said.
Aquino teaches at SU where he obtained his doctoral degree. He had won the Palanca four times for his fiction and poetry. In 2004, he received the SEAWRITE award from the Prince of Thailand in Bangkok for “Checkmeta”, a personal anthology of poems and prose pieces, both in fiction and non-fiction. His other books include “Chronicles of Suspicion”, “Word Without End” and “In Samarkand”, the press release also said.
The lecture, that is open to the public for free, is part of the Edilberto and Edith Tiempo Creative Writer Center Lecture Series of the school, the press release added.*
