The Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary, 602nd PCGA Squadron, Sea Hawk Division recently swore in its new members at the Natalia Hall of the O Hotel in Bacolod City.

Commodore Athelo Ybañez, PCG, Coast Guard District Western Visayas commander; Captain Gert Heyns, deputy for Operation of the PCG Auxiliary District Western Visayas; Commander Eduardo Villanueva, deputy Division director; and Capt. Mario Jocson, deputy for Operation of the 602nd PCGA Squadron attended the event.

Inducted were lieutenant commanders William Chua, Juan Ramon Jalandoni and Manuel Ong; and lieutenants RCJ, Cesar Angcon, Napoleon Conmigo, Angelito Dumapi, Edward and Perry Ong, Joel Tanaid and Arthur Yap.

The activity began with the entry of colors led by the VMA ROTC Cadet Officers. Capt. Albert Lim Jr., deputy director for Admin of the 602nd CGAS and the Division Director of Sea Hawk, gave the welcome remarks and Ybañez and Capt. Elizabeth Salabas pinned the shoulder boards on the inductees.

A turnover of donations of rescue cans by Capt. Albert Lim Jr. and LCDR Jorge Lim capped the program.*

‘MassKara Night’ set
at Negros Trade Fair

The MassKara Festival will be featured at the 27th Negros Trade Fair at the Rockwell Tent in Makati City, 4 to 8 p.m. on September 28, a press release from organizers said.

Pulsating, drum-beating rhythm, colorful festival dancers, a display of world-famous masks and body painting, will lend the trade fair an exciting festival mood, and will give Makati City a taste of the festival, the press release also said.

The trade fair, to be held Sept. 26 to 30, aims to give small and medium entrepreneurs of Negros the opportunity to market their products in Manila and other areas.

With the theme “Beyond Limits”, the fair will feature innovative products from the fashion, furniture, gifts and house ware, food, and organic sectors of the Association of Negros Producers, that will be displayed in more than 70 booths, the press release also said.

It will be open to the public from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Sept. 26-28, and from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Sept. 29 and 30. Entrance fee is P40.
