This Emerald year
The High School Class ‘57 of La Consolacion College-Bacolod celebrated their reunion as emerald jubilarians recently.
Three days were not enough for them to reminisce on the past, talk about the present and look forward to another reunion.
They also had a class get-together at the farm of Tess Yusay in Calumangan where everybody partook of native foods and two lechons, one of them was donated by their classmate based in Manila, lawyer Renecio Espiritu. More reminiscing, singing and playing games followed.
On September 2, the Class had lunch at Chicken Deli, courtesy of their classmate, Delia Ciocon Granada. They were surprised to find out that the resto also serves all-time favorites, like sinigang, adobo, and kare-kare.
Then it was off to the LCC auditorium for a mass for the alumni, where a jubilee program was held, followed by dinner at the poolside of Sugarland Hotel, hosted by Tess Yusay.
We all enjoyed dancing the night away, though it was not too late for the golden girls of Class ’57.*
Remember: Sometimes God pushes us to our limits. He tests us beyond our endurance because He has greater faith in us than we have in ourselves. |
