The new PHILSURIN office at Hilado Street in Bacolod City was inaugurated this week, its press release said yesterday.
Its chairman, Aurelio Valderrama, cut the ceremonial ribbon at the affair that was attended by Mill District Development Council coordinators in the province and staff of the PHILSURIN Experiment Station from Victorias.
Rev. Fr. Romeo Tumonong officiated at the blessing.
The office was established to provide information to stakeholders of the sugar industry in Negros Occidental. It is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. from Monday to Friday, the press release said.
Planters are invited to visit and avail of updated information on new varieties developed and technologies generated by the institution, it added. Soil samples for analysis and varieties for identification could also be brought to the office, the press release said.*
