Negros DepEd to fill up 121
teaching posts by Sept. 15

BY JUANCHO GALLARDE

The Department of Education Division of Negros Oriental will fill up 121 teaching positions by September 15 based on the new guidelines under Department Order 12, assistant division superintendent Dexter Aguilar said.

The vacancies include 38 kindergarten school teacher positions, that include 17 items for the first district, eight for the second district and 13 for the third district; 34 elementary school teachers, with 17 intended for the first district, six for the second, and 11 for the third district.

Aguilar said 49 high school teachers are also needed, 19 of them for the first district, 13 for the second district and 17 for the third district.

He assured that all applicants will be hired based on qualifications and ranking requirements under the registry of qualified applicants. Other parameters to consider include the point system, educational attainment, eligibility, and licensure exams output.

Aguilar said the delay in filling up the positions was due to the issuance of the revised guidelines in the selection process, that involves the registry of qualified applicants.

DO 12 or the amended rules on the hiring of teacher 1 positions based on the basic education sector reform agenda was issued by DepEd Secretary Armin Luistro on February 1, 2012.*JG
