Tetangco said penalty for non-compliance on the MSME lending rule had been raised but stressed that more than the compliance issue what is important is the support being extended to the MSME sector.

Implement pay increase

Regional director, Ponciano Ligutom, of the Department of Labor and Employment yesterday reminded all employers to implement Wage Order No. 20 that was approved by the Regional Tripartite Wage and Productivity Board early this year.

The wage order provides for the P12 increase in the minimum wage making it P277 for companies employing more than 10 workers, P235 for companies with 10 workers for the commercial sector and P245 for plantation and P235 for non-plantation for the agriculture sector, Ligutom said.

He also said that upon approval, the DOLE has publicized the wage order on May 16 in the “Hublas Kamatooran” local newspaper.
