A well-loved mother’s birthday

The happiest birthday for a mother is when her grown-up kids come home from far away to celebrate the occasion with her.

This was exactly what happened to Monina Santillan Locson, who celebrated her 73rd birthday recently. It was a grand celebration as her daughter Lookie from Germany and Maria Victoria, who is based in Manila, came home together with her other daughter, Antonette, daughter-in-law Ethel and only son Dr. Rey Locson. Even grandkids Bea and Matthew came to wish Lola a Happy Birthday!

That night, the family’s beautiful house in Mountainview Subdivision was all lit up for the festivity and from a distance, anyone could see that there was a big party being held there.

Monina is very active in church activities and it was no surprise that her guests included her friends from the parish: Fathers Tomas Rito, Randy Doromal, Greg Patiño, Noli Blancaflor, Nitodel Sorian, and Norman Segovia. Even Msgr. Vic Rivas was there!

Monina looked absolutely glowing and beautiful as she greeted her guests with beso-beso y abrazo. At 73, she is still very young looking and lovely as ever. She was so glad to see her friends, among them Ramon and Ann Ascalon, Joanne Visitacion (owner of Ysabella’s Beauty Salon), who came with her mother, Judith, who is now back in the Philippines after years of living in the States.

Everyone enjoyed the superb dishes especially prepared for the occasion. Late night dancing and singing is now a must in fun-filled parties here, so naturally, guests simply jammed with Joann as she gave her all in performing popular songs while mother Judith surprised everyone with her groovy dance moves. Even the Albay family jumped in and did some cha-cha numbers on the floor as well as celebrator Monina and some friends from Hinigaran.

What great fun everybody had! The family said this birthday is one of the best celebrations ever. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MONINA!*
