Peña offers 2nd
option vs. impasse

Pulupandan Mayor Magdaleno Peña, in a press release yesterday, said he is offering option two to the impasse in the United Negros Alliance.

Negros Occidental Gov. Alfredo Marañon Jr. and Vice Governor Genaro Alvarez, both of UNA, are set for a showdown for the governorship in 2013.

In a press release earlier, Peña had urged the two to settle the impasse in a boxing match at the Capitol Lagoon Park in Bacolod City, and since that has a slim chance of taking place, he said he is offering a second option.

He said his next option is for a four kilometer-run around the Panaad oval, the press release said.

He said Vice Governor Alvarez, his uncle, has accepted the challenge to join the fun run, the press release added.*
