Gov. Alfredo Marañon, Jr. yesterday distributed P1,406,350 in checks for projects of barangays in Negros Occidental, a Capitol press release said.
Brgy. Magsaysay, Cadiz City received P250,000 for the construction of a drainage system in the barangay proper, Brgy. Cudangdang, E.B. Magalona received P125,000 for livelihood projects; Brgy. Tanza and Brgy. Tuburan also of E.B. Magalona received P10,000 each for their barangay day celebration and socio-cultural activities; Brgy. Sta. Rosa, Murcia, P10,000 for beautification project; Brgy. Zone 14-B, Talisay City, P20,000 for the rehabilitation of its public plaza.
In Victorias City, Brgy IV received P62,550 for the improvement of water facilities; Brgy. VII, P 100,000 for the clean and green environment project; Brgy. IX-Daan Banwa, P75,000 for the construction of a two-storey building for evacuation center and peace headquarter; and Brgy. XIX-A, P100,000 for the rehabilitation of No. 3 water pump.
Meanwhile, the Municipality of San Enrique received P110,300 for the support to livelihood program for small fisher folks in Tabao Baybay and P123,500 for the support to livelihood program for Sitio Utod Fisher Folk Association; Brgy. San Juan, Pontevedra P10,000 for various cultural activities; and Brgy. La Garnja, La Carlota received P400,000 for the improvement and expansion of public market.
The checks were received y by the barangay officials in the presence of Board Members Miller Serondo and Salvador Escalante, Jr. at the Governor’s Office in Bacolod City.* back
