Police, firemen trained
on disaster preparedness

The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council is conducting a two-week training for 30 police personnel, 10 firemen, and 10 civilians, is part of the local government’s continuing disaster preparedness program.

PDRRMC action officer Adrian Sedillo said the One Rescue group is providing basic life support training, the Philippine Red Cross for first-aid training, and the Bureau of Fire for the rescue, swimming and angle courses.

A simulation drill was conducted yesterday as closing activity for the first-aid course to test the skills of the participants on medical response, command protocol, crowd control, transport of the victims, and the like.

Fire Officer I Geigh Virgilio Baradero of the Amlan Fire Station said the trainees will take their swift water rescue training at the Buayahan River in Palinpinon, Valencia.*JG
