Danding expected
at NPC rites
BY CARLA GOMEZ

Ambassador Eduardo Cojuangco and six top leaders of the Nationalist People’s Coalition are expected to attend the mass oathtaking of new Negros Occidental Nationalist People’s Coalition members at the L’Fisher Hotel in Bacolod City on September 22, Vice Governor Genaro Alvarez Jr. said yesterday.

Alvarez, who is the NPC candidate for governor of Negros Occidental, said about 150 to 200 Negrenses from all over the province are expected to take their oaths.

As to a possible NPC-Liberal Party merger in Negros, and LP support for him and his running mate, former San Carlos City Mayor Eugenio Jose Lacson, Alvarez told the DAILY STAR to ask Rep. Alfredo Abelardo Benitez (Neg. Occ., 3rd District).

Benitez, chairman of LP Negros, told the DAILY STAR Thursday that he would make an announcement at the proper time.

Kabankalan Mayor Isidro Zayco, NPC Negros Occidental head, said  it is Alvarez who is coming up with the list of NPC candidates for Negros Occidental since he is the one running for governor.*CPG
