Trisikad driver stabbed dead

A trisikad driver died on the spot after he was stabbed several times by an unidentified man at Sharina Heights Subdivision, Brgy. Taculing, Bacolod City, at about 9:35 p.m. Friday.

Case investigator, Senior Police Officer 1 Jose Roy Militante, identified the fatality as Alex Gregorio of Purok Kawayanan, Brgy. 28, Bacolod.

Barangay Taculing tanods Pedro Climico and Sherwin Ybañez told the police that they saw Gregorio pass by their outpost at about 9 p.m. Friday, ferrying an unidentified passenger.

Militante said the tanods later heard a commotion and when they checked on it, they saw Gregorio lying in the middle of the road, bathed in blood.

He said that, according to another witness, Gregorio and his passenger had a scuffle.

The police theorized that Gregorio and his passenger had a verbal spat over the fare and that this eventually resulted in the stabbing.*APN

‘Robber’
injured in shootout

A suspected robber was injured in what had appeared to be shootout at about 2:30 a.m. Saturday at the compound of Smart Telecommunications cellsite in Hillside Subdivision, Brgy. Alijis, Bacolod City.

Station 7 commander, Chief Insp. Levy Pangue, identified the suspect as Allan Baticados, 22, of Brgy. 6, Bacolod, who was shot on his right knee and was rushed to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital, where he is now confined.

Reports sent by Police Station 7 to the Bacolod City Police show that security guard Demmy Parcon, employed by the Tri-Gold Security Agency and detailed at the cellsite, sought police help after he saw three unidentified men inside the compound.

When Station 7 policemen arrived, one of the suspects fired at them, prompting the police to retaliate and hit Baricados, police reports show.

Although wounded, Baricados managed to flee with his two unidentified companions, but he was arrested in a follow-up operation at about 6:30 a.m. Saturday, the police added.

Pangue said two empty shells of a .38 caliber revolver, a pair of iron sheet scissors, pliers, and a wrench, believed to have been left behind by the suspects, as well as two 11-plate batteries and three crude oil containers, all valued at P20,000 and owned by Smart Telecommunications, were recovered at the crime scene.

Charges are being readied against Baricados and his unidentified companions.*APN
