Vintage bombs detonated

Vintage bombs of assorted sizes of were detonated Friday by members of the Negros Occidental PNP Public Safety Company in Brgy. Pinocotan, Calatrava, Negros Occidental, police reports said yesterday.

Detonated were 17 pieces of 60mm, 76mm, 81mm, 90mm and 105mm high explosives, a rocket launcher explosive, two fragmentation grenades and an improvised explosive device.

The police has been encouraging Negrenses to surrender any vintage bombs or explosives to prevent their possible explosion.

Supt. Armando Tubongbanua, Negros Occidental PSMC director, and Inspector Paulino Sandrino Jr. assisted Jerry Abrisia, who acted as blaster, in the detonation of the bombs. * GPB
