Man nabbed for
illegal firearms

A man was arrested allegedly for illegal possession of firearms and ammunition in Dauin town, Negros Oriental, Wednesday.

Insp. George Badon, Dauin police chief, identified the suspect as Venancio Elloreg, who was nabbed at his residence in Maayong Tubig in the town, on the strength of a warrant issued by Executive Judge Fe Lualhati Bustamante of the Regional Trial Court Branch 33, yielded a .38 caliber revolver, .357 caliber pistol and five rounds of ammunition.

Badon said the raid was jointly conducted by the Dauin PNP, and members of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, led by Senior Insp. Ricky Neron.

Charges for illegal possession of firearms and ammunition, under Presidential Decree 1866 as amended by RA 8394, will be filed against Elloreg, who is now detained at the Dauin police station.*JFP
