1 dies, 1 survives electrocution

A government employee of Tanjay City, Negros Oriental died, and another was injured, when they were electrocuted while trying to connect electricity to their booth during preparations for a Girl Scout of the Philippines activity in Camp Lily Gamo, in Brgy. San Antonio, Sibulan, Thursday.

NOPPO deputy director, Supt. Alet Virtucio identified the victims as Jeric Luba, of legal age, and Engineer Rando Reyes Duran, 38. The two were preparing for the opening rite of the GSP camping activity when the incident happened at about noon Thursday.

The victims were rushed to the Silliman University Medical Center, but Luba was declared dead on arrival, while Duran was still recuperating, the police said.

Virtucio said he ordered Insp. Rodrigo Tubog, chief of the Sibulan Police Station, to conduct a thorough investigation on the incident.*MA
