Former Bacolod Election Officer Daisy Dacudao-Real passed away yesterday in Manila after suffering from gastric cancer since 2009.

Real, 53, had also served as acting Provincial Election Supervisor in Negros Occidental, Bacolod Election Officer Mavil Majarucon yesterday said.

Majarucon, who replaced Real as election officer of Bacolod, said that when Real was not appointed as PES, she applied for director 3 of the Election Contest and Adjudication Department where she handles a committee that hears election-related cases.

Real was also director of the Committee on Local Absentee Voting in Western Visayas before that.

Majarucon said Real’s daughter informed her that they will have their mother cremated three days from the day she died. They will then divide her ashes and leave half of it to Real’s mother in Manila, she said.

After the cremation, Real’s family will schedule a funeral service for her in Bacolod, Majarucon added.*CGS
