An Indian national who was set to marry his fiancé next week hanged himself with a malong (tube skirt) at his house in Brgy. Taculing, Bacolod City, yesterday.
The police and even the friends of Gurdep Singh, 24, of Zircon road, City Heights Subdivision, Brgy. Taculing are clueless on the reason behind his alleged suicide, case investigator Senior Police Officer 1 Jose Roy Militante, told the DAILY STAR.
In fact, Singh, and his fiancé, whose name was not disclosed, with his friends, held a pre-wedding party Thursday night at his house, Militante said.
Militante added that, based on their investigation, Singh’s marriage to his fiancé was pre-arranged as it is a common custom to Hindu tradition.
Singh’s assistant, Lucy Guico, told the police that she saw her employer suspended from the ceiling of the kitchen when she arrived at his place at about 6:30 a.m. yesterday and immediately sought help.
Scene of the Crime Operatives of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office conducted an ocular investigation at Singh’s house on the possibility that there was foul play behind his death, City Police Director Senior Supt. Ricardo de la Paz said.
However, investigators found no signs of forcible entry, and his P11,000 was still in his back pocket and while his cellular phone was on his bed, a police report showed.
Militante also noted no hematoma were found or sign of struggle or wounds on Singh’s body although they recovered several capsules of an unknown medicine from the pocket of his pants.
Singh’s remains are now at the Rolling Hills Memorial Chapels and it will undergo an autopsy to erase doubts about foul play Militante said.*APN back
