PNP recruiting for
258 Special Action Force

BY GILBERT BAYORAN

The Philippine National Police is recruiting 258 young professionals to join its elite unit, the Special Action Force.

The PNP Special Action Force is trained in special military combat-related courses, and is engaged in anti-guerrilla and anti-terrorist operations. It also provides support to other police units and performs related peace-keeping functions.

Senior Inspector Sally Manuel, officer-in-charge of the Police Regional Office Public Information Division, said the PNP SAF will deploy its Mobile Recruitment Pilot Office to conduct initial screening of qualified applicants on Sept. 26 and 27 at Camp Martin Delgado in Iloilo City.

DOST assistant provincial director Roslyn Tambago said the Small Enterprise Technology Upgrading Program innovation system support fund provides the company with compact tabletop depositor, product cylinder, handheld nozzle and flocker to upgrade and enhance the fast and efficient production of silvanas and sans rival, the press release said.

CSC urges good working
condition for employees
BY JUDY F. PARTLOW

The Negros Oriental Civil Service Commission is urging local government units and agencies to provide healthy working conditions for their employees to improve public service performance.

CSC provincial chief Merlinda Quillano said the lack of adequate resources, equipment and logistics support are usual complaints in government offices and LGUs that are overlooked or ignored by their superiors. She added that even the absence of air-conditioning or proper ventilation in an office is ground for a complaint.

Quillano said these problems should not be ignored, as government agencies and offices are required to have a grievance committee to hear the complaints of employees, like requests for reassignment, or transfer from one office to another, and the like.
