‘Art for Peace’
winners named

Winners of the “Art for Peace” T-shirt painting competition held at Robinsons mall in Dumaguete City Saturday, were announced by organizers in a press release yesterday.

The champion is Kim Brian Villamil, 15, from Saceda Youth Lead High School in Brgy. Candua-ay, Dumaguete City; with Nick Lester Gadingan, 12, from Silliman University Extension Program in Siaton; and Rogelio Angeles, 16, of the Little Children of the Philippines HS in Brgy. Claytown Daro, Dumaguete, in second and third place, the press release also said. They won P1,500, P1,000 and P600, respectively.

The competition, participated in by 48 students from public high schools and special education centers, was conducted in line with the month-long activities to mark September as the National Peace Consciousness Month under Presidential Proclamation 275-2004, the press release said.

It was organized by the Negros Oriental Children’s Advocacy Network, local government agencies, Philippine National Police, Philippine Army, and the Provincial Peace and Order Council of Negros Oriental, the press release added.*
