6 schools join NIDACS Meet

Six schools in southern Negros Occidental are joining the Negros Inter-Diocesan Association of Catholic Schools that recently held its Cluster II Sub-Area Meet in the town of Ilog, a press release from organizers said.

Participating in NIDACS sports and cultural events are Himamaylan City’s Nuestra Señora De La Nieves School and San Ramon Catholic School in Su-ay, Ilog’s Immaculate Conception Academy and Ilog Catholic High School, Kabankalan City’s Magballo Catholic High School, and Candoni’s Our Lady of Lourdes High School.

An initiative of the Diocese of Kabankalan under the leadership of Bishop Patricio Buzon, the NIDACS aims to enhance and celebrate God’s gifts through sports and cultural events, the press release said.

The opening program was held on September 19 in Ilog with Mayor John Paul Alvarez delivering a message and taekwondo provincial meet silver medalist Dawn Lladoc lighting the athletic torch and leading the oath of sportsmanship, the press release added.*
