NORSU PTA elects 8 directors

Four parents and four faculty members were elected to the Board of Directors of the Federation of University Parents Teachers Association of the Negros Oriental State University during its general assembly Tuesday, a press release from the school said.

Elected were Sami Khayat, Gloria Adalid, Erlinda Giopano and Carmenia Pido, BOD-parents; and Eduardo Iso, Carlo Bernaldez, Recto Reyes, and Mila Barilea, BOD-faculty. They will serve for one term of two years, starting November 2012, the press release also said.

FUPTA president Anacleto Roy Garcia said the association works and cooperates with the school administration in delivering academic and technical services to produce responsible students.

The assembly was attended by NORSU president Don Vicente Real and around 400 parents, guardians and faculty members. The election committee was chaired by College of Business and Accountancy dean Silveria Ochotorena, the press release added.*
