Market repair
bidding Oct.16

BY CHRYSEE SAMILLANO

The bidding for the repair of the portion of the Burgos Public Market in Bacolod City, razed by fire, is set on October 16, and the pre-bid conference on October 4, City Engineer Luben Rafael Seballos yesterday said.

Seballos, who is in charge of the project, said the delay in its implementation was the change of plan and design, and the budgetfor the vegetable section was re-aligned for the repair of the portion damaged by fire on May 6, 2012.

He said Mayor Evelio Leonardia had directed them to prioritize the repair of the portion damaged by fire.

Seballos said they prepared a project proposal and design for the damaged portion and submitted this to the Mayor for his approval. It entails the drafting of a new program of work before it was presented to the Office of the City Mayor, he said.

He said that after the implementation, they will start with the main roof of the public market and then on the areas damaged or destroyed by fire.*CGS
