Police arrest
city snatcher
BY PATRICK PANGILINAN

A suspected robber tagged in several snatching incidents in Bacolod was arrested by law enforcers yesterday, and the statements of his accomplices had led to it.

Romeo Tabigni, 18, of Purok 4, Brgy. Cabug, Bacolod City , was arrested by Police Station 1 officers led by SPO1 Dionel Paunillo at 11th St. , in the city, at about 3:30 p.m. yesterday, Police Station 1 commander, Chief Inspector Noel Manaay said.

Tabigni is among the city's alleged “notorious” robbers who ride on motorcycles at night or early in the morning and snatch cellphones and bags from pedestrians, Manaay said.

Eroreco, La Salle Avenue , Brgy. Villamonte, and the downtown area, are some of the places where Tabigni's group usually strike, he added.

Manaay said that the statements of Giovannie Diel and Carmelo Seran, who were arrested earlier this week, also for robbery complaints, helped them track Tabigni down and apprehended him yesterday.

Tabigni admitted to the crimes and named three others who are now the subject of a police manhunt.

Manaay said he hopes snatching incidents, particularly at the downtown area, will lessen with the arrest of the three and vowed to nab the other members of their group.*PP
