The San Carlos City Summer Football League opened Saturday at the SJRI football field with around 400 children participating in different age-group category, a press release from San Carlos City FC said.

The event was ushered by a motorcade around the city, followed by the opening ceremonies with Sangguniang Kabataan chairman Fay Dollosa delivering a message to the participants and Barangay 1 official Elias Larla declaring the tournament open.

Initiated by the San Carlos local government, the sports program is under the supervision of the San Carlos City football club and enjoys the support of the First District Congressional Office and the San Julio Realty Inc., the press release said.

Up for grabs in the two-month league are titles in the boys and girls’ 6-8 years old, 9-10 years old, 11-12 years old and Under-14 boys category; Under-16, Men’s open and 40-Up division.

Vying for the title in the 6-8 years old category are: Brgy. 1, JS-Jojo Salvador, San Jose E.S, Muto, Los Amigos, and CSR.

Eyeing the crown in the 9-10 years old group are: Yoyong Racing Team, SJRI, Sudecor, Los Amigos-A, Los Amigos-B, Bascara, Brgy. 3, Brgy. 2, and Brgy. 1.

Grouped in the 11-12 years old are: San Jose, CSR, Kids United, GENESYS foundation, Los Amigos, MONACAR, Brgy. 1, Vamos Blackhawk and DONS.

Teams in the Under-14 are: San Carlos Selection Girls, JS, Buluangan, Vamos, JLNHS, CSR while the tile in the Under-16 will be contested by CSTR, CSR, JLNHS, and Tanon C.

Men's open match-ups will be among POWErTEL, CAPUGE, BarBados, and Cravings while joining the 40-Up are San Carlos Bioenergy Inc., SUDECOR, Real Athletico, and Nabatang Peak.*
