2 holdup suspects fall
BY ADRIAN NEMES III

Station 2 policemen apprehended two suspected hold-uppers in a follow-up operation in Bacolod City at about 2 a.m. yesterday, Insp. Jeffrey Attunaga said.

Attunaga identified the suspects as Anthony Cuadra, 19, of Purok Sigay and Alex Villarosa, alias “Tata”, 37, of Purok Kagaykay,  in Brgy. 2, Bacolod.

The suspects were successively nabbed from their residences through the help of an informant, Attunaga said.

Investigation showed that complainants Samuel Bautista, 26, of Cordova Avenue and Jhon Aris Palacios, 28, Regent Pearl, Alijis, Bacolod City were on board their motorcycle when the suspects stopped them in Purok Sigay.

One of the suspects allegedly aimed a firearm of unknown caliber at the victims and took a cellular phone with undetermined market value, a wallet with P500 and P1,300 in cash before fleeing.

Attunaga said that they will invite other robbery victims in their area to visit their police station to identify the suspects, who are now detained at their lock-up cell. Robbery charges will be filed against them within the week after the victims have executed their affidavits.

He added that, aside from robbery, Villarosa will also face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 after the police allegedly recovered three plastic sachets of suspected shabu on him when he was frisked.*APN
