The picture of ten naked girls, believed to be high school students from Bacolod City schools, is reportedly being circulated in the city through cellular phones.

A copy was given to Negros Occidental High School principal Mario Amaca by a source he refused to identify, who said some of the girls in the photo might be their students.

He said he told their Guidance Office coordinator to scan the pictures of their students in their files to see if some of them were on the controversial photo.

Sangguniang Panglungsod Committee on Education chairman Greg Gasataya yesterday said he has written the Bacolod City Police Office Women and Children’s Protection Center and the City Social Welfare and Development to probe the proliferation of the photos.

He also wrote the Department of Education in the city to verify whether the girls on the pictures were indeed from schools based in Bacolod or not.

He said he was alarmed and could not understand why the girls allowed such pictures to be taken.

Gastaya stressed that appropriate actions will be taken against the person who took the picture and against those who were responsible for circulating it through cellular phones.*APN
