Kris Aquino, the youngest daughter of the late former president Corazon Aquino, said she is not running for public office and is praying that she and her Negrense husband, James Yap, have a baby girl.
The actress-television host, in an interview over “SNN: Showbiz News Ngayon” on ABS-CBN Monday night, said she was focusing her attention on her family.
She said her “first and primary obligations” are her two children – Joshua, 13, and Baby James, 2.
"By 2010, baby James won’t even be in pre-school,” she said. "I want to have another baby. I talked to James about it and he said are you sure. Because knowing me I might have to go into four to five months bed rest. I told him as long as I am capable let’s try.”
Kris said she is praying for a baby girl who will hopefully look after Joshua.
“With Josh's special needs, the burden will be big for baby James. So, I hope we have another child if it is God's will…If He gives us a boy it is okay, but we want to have three children,” she said.
Although she is not running for public office, Kris said she will continue the legacy of her mother by continuing her charity work.
Kris returned to “SNN: Showbiz News Ngayon” Monday night after taking a break from work to take care of her ailing mother, who died on August 1 after fighting colon cancer for more than a year.
Kris said she promised her mother that she would take care of her bachelor brother, Sen. Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III, including the groceries and his clothes.
Kris is also financing the renovation of their mother’s house at Times Street in Quezon City where Noynoy lives.
She said she is not belittling her brother’s capabilities but he is an honest politician and a senator does not earn very much so he can’t afford the renovation.
Noynoy only wants to have two bedrooms and a meeting room and she wants her two children to have their own rooms there as well as a playroom, tutorial room and swimming pool for Joshua, she said.
Family reunions will also be held there, she said.
She really needs to work, not just for her family, but for her brother whom she has “adopted,” Kris said.*
