A prime suspect in the shooting of two persons two months ago, was gunned down by two unidentified men in Hacienda Salome 2, Brgy. 10, Victorias City, Negros Occidental, yesterday.
The victim, identified as Edwin Oyeman, 34, was shot in the right eye and in his breast, allegedly by a certain Maitan and Allan, who were both armed with M-16 assault rifles, police said.
Police Officer 2 Antonio Broce, duty investigator of the Victorias City police station, however, said they could not confirm reports that the two suspects are members of the Revolutionary Proletarian Army-Alex Boncayao Brigade, a breakaway communist rebel faction, as of last night.
Oyeman was earlier tagged as a suspect in the shooting of Alberto Conserman and his son, Albert, in Hacienda Jojamar, Brgy. 10, Victorias City, on June 2, police records showed.
Conserman and his son, however, survived, police said.
Broce, citing testimonies of the victim’s wife, Gina, said Oyeman was having a dialog with a certain Maitan and Allan, when he was shot.
He added that the gunmen fled immediately.
Two empty shells of an M-16 armalite rifle were recovered at the crime scene by Victorias City police, who responded to the shooting.
Broce said they are still verifying reports that the killing of Oyeman had something to do with the shooting of Conserman and his son.*GPB
