A rumble between two groups at a videokee house at Bangga Carmela Valley in Silay City, Negros Occidental, at past midnight Saturday, claimed the lives of two, while one was injured, police said yesterday.

Raymond Lauresta, 22, was declared dead on arrival at the Teresita Lopez Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in Silay, while Marlon Balsomo, 26, died while being treated at the Riverside Medical Center in Bacolod City, Police Officer 2 Randy Sambra, case investigator, said.

The three suspects identified as Reynold Cabrera and his brother, Stanly, as well as Jeoffrey Mercader who were immediately arrested by Silay policemen who responded to the incident, are now in jail.

Charlie Osorio, a companion of the two victims, is also being treated of stab wounds at a hospital in Silay.

Police investigation shows that Lauresta allegedly hit Reynold with a bottle, and he retaliated by stabbing him with a bladed weapon.

Balsomo and Osorio who reportedly attempted to pacify the two, were also attacked and allegedly stabbed by Stanly and Mercader, Sambra said.

The police recovered two bladed weapons used in the commission of the crime.

Sambra said the rumble was triggered by misunderstanding of   the persons involved, who were allegedly under the influence of intoxicating liquor.*GPB
