The Philippines is eyeing about $500-million financial assistance from South Korea under the country's multi-year program assistance to fund various pipeline projects starting next year, according to the National Economic and Development Authority, a government press release said.
Rolando Tungpalan, NEDA deputy director general for investment planning, said the Philippines already has a pipeline of projects worth US$ 500 million that is "callable" in the next two years.
The pipeline projects seen to be funded under the Korean multi-year assistance program include the $13.06-million Bacolod City-Silay Airport Road . 


100 finish skills training
One hundred dependents of sugarcane farm workers completed the 22 nd technical skills training of the NFSP Sugar Workers Foundation Livelihood and Technical Skills Training Center at the NFSP Compound, Bacolod-Murcia Road , Alijis, Bacolod City yesterday, a press release from the group.
The beneficiaries, who are dependents of farm workers employed by sugar producers affiliated with the National Federation of Sugarcane Planters, learned highly employable skills in welding, automotive servicing, computer operations and hardware servicing and building wiring installation. 

ATMs assured
of ample cash
The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas-Kalibo has assured tourists in Boracay of enough supply of cash in several automated teller machines of different banks during the holiday season, a government press release said.
Leonora Templonuevo, deputy director of BSP-Kalibo, said that she saw no reason why money supply in ATMs should be insufficient.
Boracay Island , as a premier tourism destination in the country, is one of the favorite destinations not only of foreign tourists but also of local tourists and of celebrities during Christmas and New Year's revelry. Most of the tourists either use credit cards or ATM cards.
