DISQUALIFICATION
Limkaichong case
hearing set Dec. 29
BY JUDY F. PARTLOW

The Commission on Elections has set the hearing of a disqualification case filed against incumbent Rep. Jocelyn Limkaichong (Neg. Or., 1st District) 2 p.m. Dec. 29 at its central office session hall in Manila .

The petition to deny due course of the certificate of candidacy or cancel the certificate of candidacy of Limkaichong was filed by Vice Mayor Ronald Lobrido of La Libertad town and a certain Derek Garol of Guihulngan, both in Negros Oriental, said provincial acting election supervisor Eddie Aba.

The summons and notice of hearing were served yesterday to Limkaichong through her lawyer, Dirke Palma, Aba said, and a copy was also served to petitioners Lobrido and Garol through their lawyer Persephone Evangelista.

Meanwhile, the provincial Comelec office also served a copy of the summons with notice of hearing to independent candidate Raul Aniñon who is the subject of a disqualification case filed by incumbent Rep. George Arnaiz (Neg. Or., 2nd District).

The summons was served yesterday at the residence of couple Isagani Rendal and his wife, Marlyn Aniñon in Claytown, Daro, in Dumaguete City, where Raul Aniñon, a relative, is believed to stay when in the city, Aba said.

The Comelec summons, however, came on the same day the poll body had set the hearing at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Manila .

Arnaiz was reported to have flown to Manila yesterday morning for it but it was not known whether Aniñon also made it.*JFP
