Revamp at BCPO
not true: Quebrar

Senior Supt. Ronilo Quebrar, Bacolod City Police Office director, yesterday denied reports of an impending revamp among the station commanders of the BCPO.

Quebrar, however, confirmed that several precinct heads are scheduled to undergo career advancement training this month.

The officers who will study at the Philippine National Police Region 6 Training School in Brgy. Mansilingan, Bacolod, hold the rank of Chief Insp. Senior Insp., and Insp., and are eyeing promotions.

Quebrar said the approval of the officers’ schooling, by the Philippine National Police Region 6 office, will be subject to the availability of personnel to replace them.

Presently, Quebrar said, some commissioned officers handle multiple positions as heads of department as they wait for more personnel to be detailed at the BCPO.*PP

Drug ‘pusher’ faces raps

Illegal drugs charges will be filed today against a suspected pusher, collared by anti-narcotics operatives in a buy-bust sting in Bacolod City, Tuesday, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency said yesterday.

To be charged for selling and illegally possessing shabu is Jose Maria Aguanta, alias Joemarie San Miguel, of Rio Vista, Purok Malinong, Brgy. Taculing, Bacolod,   PO2 Cirilo Baluma Jr., PDEA Negros Occidental officer-in-charge, said.

The Philippine National Police Crime Laboratory confirmed that the sachet confiscated from Aguante indeed contained shabu.

Aguanta, who does construction painting jobs, was nabbed by the group of Baluma when he allegedly handed a big pack of shabu to an agent in exchange for a P500 marked bill at his house.

The big sachet, also known as “bulto”, was estimated to be worth P50,000, Baluma said.

Aguanta admitted the offense and did not resist the arrest, he added.

Baluma said they suspect that Aguanta is involved in distributing shabu in at least two barangays in Bacolod for a person they are still trying to identify.*PP
