A kagawad filed an administrative case yesterday for dishonesty against his barangay captain, for allegedly deducting from his honorarium against his will.

Pulantubig Kagawad Santiago Dolino accused Brgy. Captain Ramil Cornelia of deducting P500 from his honorarium for failure to attend one of two regular sessions in September last year.

During the hearing of the administrative case, Dolino himself admitted he was absent in the September 3, 2008 session and signed the receipt for the deduction.

BY JUANCHO GALLARDE

Valencia, Negros Oriental, reported yesterday about P4 million in damage to its water system, infrastructure, crops, livestock and properties caused by the flashfloods on New Year’s eve.

Mayor Rodolfo Gonzalez Jr. said he has ordered the Engineering Department of his town to fast-track the repair of water pipelines of Catmon, one of the major water sources that were severely damaged.

Gonzalez has given the engineering department seven days to finish the work, saying that water is basic and should be provided to consumers the soonest possible time.
