| A spectacular wedding
In the revolving stage of ballerina Gianne Sanchez’s colorful life, if one must think of a climactic event, it would have been her recent marriage to successful businessman Dave Sanson.
With her doting uncle, Iloilo premiere wedding stylist and couturier-uncle Bing Sanchez, brother of George – the bride’s dad, as event impresario, it was a dream wedding for Bacolod’s graceful danseuse who has inherited her mother Janette Garcia-Sanchez’s dance studio. The St. Jude Church, already festooned with Christmas lights became a saintly marquee’d backdrop for the religious rites worthy of a Broadway musical.
Illuminated gossamer columns topped by balls of pristine white daisies, roses and orchids sprung out elegant Easter lilies down the main aisle. White canopies of stretched silk made the grandiose décor intimate as the bride looked every inch a ballet star in a Swan Lake inspired gown with tiers of pleated flounces bouncing down her skirt, zigzagging swirls of bridal satin up her bodice finished with a delicate whisper of a ruffle baring her Margot Fonteyn shoulders. The 15-meter long cathedral train was done in scallops topped with Chanel ribbons and dusted by her wedding veil held by a stunning diamond clip under her classic chignon. Only a diva like Gianne could have carried such a stunning creation, making her amoroso Dave glossy eyed with love.
The VIP principal sponsors were beloved Congressman Kako Lacson and Silay City’s first lady Marissa Montelibano in classic champagne chiffon, US-based Dr. John Sanson and Teresita Sarmiento in European cut jusi gown, Bay Area resident George Sanson and Gina Martin in a beaded topped column of taupe silk, Iloilo fashion icon Bing Sanchez and champion sharp shooter Jannette Gonzaga in filigree gold crystal embroidery, Long Beach, Californian Rey Sanchez and top Hongkong Shanghai Bank executive Elaine Dichupa in draped beaded cache-coeur, landed Francisco Barandiaran and Sonia Poblador in burnt copper beaded lace jacket, hotelier extraordinaire JV Tanpinco and Chona Flores in a one-sided vanilla and beige flowing chiffon, haciendero Raoul Flores and Ginny Vargas in Valentino lace topped sheath of mocha, transport magnate Ricardo Yanson and Genevieve Mapa in a moderne Maria Clara top of heavy lace in sepia tones, Antonio Jocson and Jessica Dimacali in beaded lace organza with the biggest heirloom sapphire encircled by diamonds worthy of the Topkapi Museum.
Matron of honor was classic beauty Agnes Matti in ripped ribbons of ube chiffon, Maid of Honor-Dr. Dindin Arnaldo of Manila Doctor’s, Best Men Bobby Sanson and Vincent Agustin, Bridesmaids Giella Sanchez, Rhea Garcia, Ann Cortes and Angela Vargas in varying shades of aubergine, Junior Bridesmaid Bea Sanson in duchesse sateen, Groomsmen Emil Miraflores, Joel Sarmiento, Mark Araneta and Gabbi Sanchez, Candle sponsors blue-blooded Gerard Benedicto and Princess Royale of Boracay’s original Pearl of the Pacific, Veil sponsors Shell exec Paolo Garcia with lawyer Giselle Tan, Cord sponsors family man Jomar Ramos and Ballet Philippines’ etoile danseuse Georgette Sanchez. The whole entourage including the lucky couple’s family was created by Bing Sanchez in eggplant to honor the memory of the late mom of the groom, Nannette Lizares Sanson and the gents in barong to the request of the father Ito Sanson.
MY PRAYER
Give us the grace and love for one another and unite our hearts in unselfish harmony.*
