Two unidentified holduppers shot and wounded the father of their victim at Diputado West Drive, Daro, Dumaguete City, Sunday night, the police said yesterday.
The victim was identified as Ernesto Dy, 47, of Daro, whose daughter Kristine, 20, was held up in front of their residence, investigation showed.
Police said the elder Dy tried to help his daughter, but he was shot and hit in his left hip.
The suspects are now at large.
The daughter reported the incident to the police and took her father to the Silliman University Medical Foundation Inc.
She told the police that when she arrived home from a restaurant, she saw two men who pointed a gun at her and took her bag containing personal belongings, three cellphones, a wallet with ATM cards, Velez College library card and other documents.
Policemen recovered a spent shell of a .45 caliber gun during their ocular investigation. The elder Dy is recuperating at the SUMFI.*RG
