program on Jan. 26

DTI Regional Director Dominic Abad said ARISE

DTI will be working with Business Development Service providers and other agencies such as the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Council.

Abad said the aim is to promote the development of new enterprises, provide alternative sources of income for the unemployed, and assist existing entrepreneurs or enterprises improve their competencies.

ARISE program has four components, including basic entrepreneurial training, business idea generation, specific assistance, and monitoring and evaluation.

The basic entrepreneurial training, scheduled half a day every week, will be conducted in all DTI provincial offices.

Separate trainings will also be held in municipalities and cities.

Participants are expected to share business ideas while those who have no idea of what business to pursue will be provided with a list of possible opportunities.

Once they choose a particular business interest, they will be further trained on tested entrepreneurial development and business counseling programs in marketing, production, organization, and management and finance.
