Medical association
holds NegOr mission

BY MARICAR ARANAS

A group of physicians from the United States, called Bisaya Medical Association, started a three-day medical and surgical mission Monday at the Guihulngan District Hospital, Guihulngan, Negros Oriental.

The mission includes non-scalpel vasectomy that will be conducted until today by Dr.  Ramon Suarez, a diplomate  of  the  American Board  of Urology, from NSV International, U.S.A.

Vasectomy is like ligation for women but is specially designed for married men who do not intend to have more children. The NSV is a modern technique that is safe, simple, finished in 15 minutes, and does not involved incision, and suture aid, the group claimed.

Organizers said parents should be responsible in planning the size of their family, adding that NSV is the best option if natural family planning does not work for married couple.

Rep. Jocelyn Limkaichong (Neg. Or., 1st District) said she promoted the NSV in La Libertad when she was mayor.  She vowed to give a sack of rice for every family whose father undergoes NSV procedure.*MA
