NOPPO to get
10 vehicles, motorcycles

BY GILBERT BAYORAN

The mobility of various units under the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office in preventive patrol operations and emergency response will get a boost with eight vehicles and two motorcycles to be dispatched to them by Camp Crame soon.

Supt. Milko Lirazan, chief of the Police Regional Office 6 Logistics Division, yesterday said the vehicles form part of the 52 allocated by Camp Crame to the Western Visayas police.

Lirazan said the Hinigaran police station has already claimed its brand new Toyota Innova vehicle.

Recipients of Toyota Hi-Lux patrol vehicles are the 613th Provincial Mobile Group, the police stations of Candoni, Escalante City, Ilog, and Pontevedra, while the NOPPO headquarters and Sagay City police station, will each receive a Toyota Innova patrol vehicle, records of the Regional Logistics Division show.

Lirazan said the municipal police stations of E.B. Magalona and Murcia are also expected to receive one motorcycle each.

Of the 45 Toyota Hi-Lux and Innova patrol vehicles, 14 have arrived and have been issued to 14 municipal police stations in Iloilo, Antique, Aklan, including the Hinigaran police station in Negros Occidental, police records showed.

Lirazan said they are still awaiting the rest of the patrol vehicles and motorcycles earmarked for PRO 6.

A total of 664 new vehicles were purchased by the PNP for distribution to line units and crime laboratory offices nationwide, as part of its continuous commitment to provide fast, efficient delivery of basic police service to the Filipino people, PNP chief Jesus Verzosa said.

The PNP is pushing for more resources and logistics for the field to meet the operational requirements of police units and personnel.

It maintains a fleet of about 9,000 land vehicles for its national support units and 17 regional offices across the country.*GPB
