Negros Billiards Stable top man Jonathan Sy along with pool icon Efren “Bata” Reyes, Aristeo “Putch” Puyat and six other billiards stalwarts in the country sought the intervention of the Philippine Olympic Committee in the long-standing crisis hounding the sport.

The group filed a petition before the POC requesting the local Olympic body to compel their organization, the Billiards and Snooker Congress of the Philippines, to hold an election to settle the internal squabble.

In the letter addressed to POC president Jose “Peping” Cojuangco, the nine BSCP members objected the act of BSCP chairman Yen Makabenta and president Ernesto Fajardo of including new names in the list of voting members and then calling for an election.
