The Bacolod Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry will hold its 23rd induction of officers and directors for 2009-2011, at the Business Inn, 7 p.m. Saturday.
Dr. Alfonso Uy, president of the Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, will be the keynote speaker and induction officer, a press release from the group said.
Lawyer Benjamin Ortega, the incoming president of the Chamber, said the theme for the day is “Building the Future Together”.
Uy will also take part in the ground-breaking ceremonies of the Chamber Business Center and the Chamber Volunteer Fire Brigade Station at Ipil Street, Capitol Shopping Center, Bacolod.
There will also be a formal turnover of an Isuzu fire and rescue truck donated by the Tiu Ke Vda. Gochangco Foundation. Benjamin Barcelona, chairman of the Chamber Volunteer Fire Brigade Commission, brigade Fire Chief Bryant Lao, assistant Fire Chief Jose Tan Jr., and other officers and members of the Emergency Medical Services Team will accept the donation.
A joint Negros-Panay regional conference of the Federation will be held on the same day at the Planta Hotel and Residences, the press release also said.*
