Club Mwah to hold show
IN KABANKALAN

The Club Mwah dance extravaganza in Metro Manila will present its world-class performance on the 12th Charter Anniversary celebration of Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental, 7 p.m. on July 31, a press release from the city said.

The two-night performance will be held at the Kabankalan Sports and Cultural Center and is free for the public.

On August 1, tickets will be sold, which includes cocktail and snacks, the press release said. 

Club Mwah has been acclaimed to produce high caliber shows at par with those in Las Vegas, New York and Paris. Cris Nicolas, a widely traveled choreographer/costume designer/director introduces a fresh touch and reinvention all the numbers inspired by Broadway and musical movie hits, the press release also said.

The group has also received awards as the most entertaining club in Asia and global excellence award, both given by the Asia Pacific Award Council.

It is the only accredited tourism entertainment club in the country that offers good clean fun with opulent first-rate entertainment and is dubbed “Asia Pacific’s Most Outstanding Entertainment Club,” the press release added.*

Tour guiding course on

A talk on “Creating the Wow” by Rene Hinojales opened the 1st Negros Island Tour Guiding Course at the Nature’s Village Resort in Talisay City, Negros Occidental, recently. 

A total of 35 participants with members of the Women in Travel and other guests joined the opening event, a press release from the Negros Island Tourism Inc. said.

After Hinojales, La Consolacion College instructor and interior designer, Raymond Fuentes, lectured on the features of the most notable buildings and houses in Bacolod City, including stories and trivia behind them.

The course, organized by the NITI, will continue through the next nine Saturdays with modules on the important facets of the province.  NITI will welcome participation in some of the modules, the press release said. 

The next modules on Saturday will be a lecture on the history of Negros by Dr. Cecile Nava, followed by a talk on landmarks, monuments and museums by Lilibeth Cordova.

NOPPO to open exhibit

The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office will hold a Police Community Relations Display and Exhibit today that will run until July 31, during mall hours at the Northwing Event Centre of SM City Bacolod.

The event on the theme “Pagbinuligay sang Kapulisan kag Pumuluyo Padulong sa Kalinungan kag Katawhayan” is in celebration of 14th Police Community Relations Month this July, a press release from the mall said.

Spearheaded by NOPPO director, Senior Supt. Manuel Felix, and PCR head, Chief Insp. Jefferson Descallar, the exhibit aims to promote the PCR as the heart of the Philippine National Police and the forefront of modern policing.

It will showcase the projects of the PCR office and its impact in the community, the press release said.

The exhibit will open with the ceremonial ribbon-cutting to be led by Felix and George Jardiolin, mall manager.

NOPPO also invited guests from different sectors and police chiefs from the PNP Regional Office VI to attend the activity, the press release added.*

Pag-IBIG to grant scholarship

The Pag-IBIG Fund Bacolod Branch announced that it is now accepting applications for its “Iskolar ng Pag-IBIG” program, a Pag-IBIG press release said.

The program is open to active Pag-IBIG Fund members and their minor legal dependents who are high school graduates. Initially, it will be granted to 150 qualified scholars nationwide, 15 of which are allocated for the Visayas region.

Interested applicant must also meet certain criteria and will be required to submit pre-determined documents.

The scholarship grant will provide financial assistance to cover actual expenses but not to exceed P60,000 per year for 4 to 5-year courses and actual expenses but not to exceed P30,000 for vocational courses, the press release said.
