Bacolod officials trip to
Palawan explained

The Bacolod City government has been nominated for the Outstanding One-Town-One-Product Local Government Unit Award of the Department of Trade and Industry.

The City Cooperative Livelihood Development Office under OIC Brenda Burdeos, representing Bacolod City, was nominated for its MassKara souvenir items and gift wares with MassKara Concept, a City Hall press release said.  

MassKara products are souvenirs made of indigenous materials popular not only for local consumers but also foreigners who come for the festival in October, its added.

Meanwhile, an Outstanding OTOP Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise award nominee is J. Exclusive Souvenir and Arts of Alexan David Beneto Denora of Brgy. Alijis that has an existing local market and products manufactured for the domestic market only, the press release said.

The awards aim to recognize local government unit and OTOP enterprises that extend remarkable support to the implementation and development of the program. The provincial winners will compete with other provincial winners in Western Visayas for the regional award and then for the national OTOP award.

There are seven LGUs and MSMEs that are finalists for the DTI Program, the press release said.*
