Former Rep. Herminio Teves (Neg.Or., 3rd District), dubbed as “king of politics” of Negros Oriental yesterday admitted that many are seeking his support for the 2010 local and national elections.
Teves was seen with of Vice Gov. Jose Baldado, Bais City Mayor Hector Villanueva and Neil Salma of Tanjay, at the residence of Tanjay Vice Mayor Nilo Tam, during the fiesta celebration Saturday, where they had informal talks.
Teves said he considers all of them as friends but he doesn’t have any commitment yet.
Teves and Baldado are good friends because the former’s candidate, Rep. Jocelyn Limkaichong (Neg.Or., 1st District) won in Manjuyod town, during the election in 2007.
While Limkaichong had been appointed as Lakas district chairman of the first district, Teves said he is not sure if he will be reappointed as the Lakas provincial chairman.
Meanwhile, Teves said he is still “tatay (father)” to most of them, in reaction to talks allegedly initiated by the camp of Gov. Emilio Macias II, who is convincing his leaders in Bayawan City.* JG
