An 11-year-old boy from Purok Lison, Brgy. 1, Bacolod was endorsed to the Social Development Center at the Bacolod City Police Office Saturday after he was arrested by the police when he allegedly attacked a septuagenarian with a knife, Insp. Ruel Culanag of Police Station 2 said yesterday.
Cecilla Jamelo, 72, of Purok Lison, told the police that at about 1 p.m. on Friday, she saw the boy, whose name is being withheld by the DAILY STAR hiding behind a cabinet at their house.
When she confronted the boy, he suddenly ran towards their kitchen, took an 8-inch kitchen knife and stabbed her repeatedly, hitting her arm, face, nose and left shoulder, Jamelo added.
She said her neighbors, who came to her aid when she called for help, accosted the boy and brought him to the police station, while she was rushed to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital.
Culanag said that, based on their investigation, the boy was blocked and threatened by a group of men earlier on Friday in Purok Lison. The boy said he was told that he could only go home if he robs the victim’s house, Culanag added.
Despite what he did, no charges will be filed against the boy since he is a minor, Culanag also said.
