About 27,000 jobs await applicants in the mega job fair of the Department of Labor and Employment Friday to Sunday at the Amigo Plaza Mall in Iloilo City as part of this year’s 111th Philippine Independence Day celebration, a DOLE press release said.
About 14 government agencies and some 47 local companies and overseas recruitment agencies will take part in the three-day event.
DOLE Region 6 director, Aida Estabillo said the first day of the job fair will feature government agencies offering 1,462 vacancies – 175 unfilled plantilla positions and 1,287 for emergency short-term employment under the Comprehensive Livelihood and Emergency Employment Program.
Private local companies offering 1,611 vacancies, including, those for, criminologists, registered nurses, information technology professionals, cashiers, mechanical engineers, laboratory analysts, loans supervisors, among others, will join on Saturday, the press release said.
Meanwhile, some 23,500 sea-based and land-based overseas job vacancies, which will be open to jobseekers throughout the affair, were posted by about 18 recruitment agencies, including, skilled workers, office staff, baby sitters, health workers, lifeguards, swimming instructors, domestic helpers, sales ladies, accountants, and therapists.
Displaced workers or their dependents who meet the qualifications required by the positions will be given preference, the DOLE said.
Applicants are advised to bring their detailed résumé, certificate of employment, if any, transcript of records, passport, and other credentials, the DOLE press release said.*
