Domingo Lacson turns 41!

BUDDAI

The 41st Grand Alumni Homecoming of the Domingo Lacson National High School in Bacolod City was hosted by Class 1984, the Silver Jubilarians, and co-hosted by classes 1969, 1974 and 1979, recently.

A motorcade at 7 a.m. started at the Capitol Lagoon, and went around the major streets of the city, then to DLNHS campus followed by snacks and registration.

Hundreds of alumni and teachers attended the Thanksgiving Mass officiated by Fr. Jesmar Manato, followed by welcome remarks by Esteban Abacea, principal of DLNHS, and a message from Christopher Villaroman, president of FDLMHSAAI, or the alumni association.

Guest speakers were Dr. Nena Semillano, head, University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos Center for Cultural and Professional Development and member of Batch 1985; Teresa Acot Jacob, comptroller-KPI-Companies, Riverside C.A., and valedictorian of Class 1984.

A special song number was offered by Class 1984 for their mentors. Distribution of tokens to their teachers was led by Michael and Marilou Clark.

A special award was given to Class 71 valedictorian, now Armed Forces chief of staff Victor Ibrado, whose sisters -- Dorothy Ibrado was valedictorian of Class 69, Cynthia Ibrado – validctorian (Class 74) and brother Arturo Ibrado was valedictorian of Class 75.

Another special guest was deputy presidential spokesman Dr. Anthony Golez with lovely wife Princess Soraya.

Officers of Class 1984 are Cristy Gallo – president, Bennie Juelle - vice president, Johanna Panay – secretary, Janera Prudente - treasurer, Al Decatoria – public information officer, Frances Ubas – auditor, Sol Montesa - business manager, and board members are Marilou Clark, Eric Billiones, Delight Nagnal, Joy Gallo and Dandy Bruma.

The parlor games and fireworks were followed by dance, dance, dance!

Remember: Don’t make a cemetery of your life by bragging about your talents. For the Christian, thanksgiving is not just a day but a way of life.*
