The National Food Authority yesterday it will continuously check the flow of government rice in the market and strictly monitor accredited rice outlets including Tindahan Natin outfits as a precaution against grains trading violations.
Pablito Gemarino, NFA Negros Occidental provincial manager, said they are intensifying efforts to apprehend violators.
In a telephone interview, Gemarino said they are watching a number of suspected violators in the province.


Roxas: new taxes will add
more hardship to Filipinos
Sen. Mar Roxas yesterday vowed to oppose all new taxes proposed by President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and her allies in Congress and even in the next administration as long as it makes government spending more efficient, a press release from his office said.
Roxas, a US-trained economist and former secretary of trade and industry in two administrations, said he would not trust the Arroyo Administration with new taxes even if it means arresting the further ballooning of government's budget deficit, the press release said.

Domestic airline, Cebu Pacific, is offering a P111 all-in ‘Go Lite’ fare for all of its domestic services in celebration of 111th anniversary of Philippine independence, a CEB press release said.
The one-day seat sale is available on June 12 only and is valid for travel from November 1 to 30, 2009.
