5 illegally selling
crude oil nabbed

Five persons were apprehended and detained at the lock-up cells of Police Stations 2 and 6 in Bacolod City yesterday, for illegal sale of crude oil, police records showed.

At about 12:15 p.m., operatives of the City Mobile Group of the Bacolod City Police arrested Joemarie Pacana, 30, Enrique Algara, 60, and Joy Laguro, 43, all of Purok Langis, Brgy. Banago, Bacolod.

The group was arrested while selling crude oil at Carmen Avenue, Brgy. 40 in Bacolod City, by the team led by Police Officer 3 Romulo Tolentino.

The police seized 27 empty containers, 8 plastic containers and 2 gallons of crude oil from the arrested suspects. The police also recovered the motorcycle they used.

Four hours later, the CMG arrested Alexis Fuentes, 25, of Purok Mainabihon, Brgy. 2, and Leodolfo Manuel, 47, of Brgy. 6 while they were selling crude oil in Purok Lampirong, Brgy. 2, Bacolod

The police confiscated three pieces of strainers, a plastic container with crude oil, 9 empty containers and 4 empty gallons from them.

The apprehended suspects will face charges for violation of city ordinance 163 series of 1996.*APN

Update status,
AFP retirees urged

Retirees of the Armed Forces of the Philippines in Negros Occidental are enjoined to visit the BAYS Center in Bacolod City, today until Saturday, to fill up their Pensioner Update Forms.

Commodore Cornelio de la Cruz, AFP Finance Center chief, said they will send mobile teams to Western Visayas, to bring their services closer to pensioners.

De la Cruz said the mobile teams will validate the status of AFP pensioners and distribute their pension checks fro the month of June only.

He advised AFP retirees to fill up PUF with 2x2 picture, retirement order, photo copy of marriage contract issued by the National Statistics Office, and pensioners’s ID (back to back).

For the beneficiaries,, they must also fill up the PUF with 2x2 ID picture, posthumous retirement order, photo copies of the declaration of legal beneficiaries from the Judge Advocate General Officer, AFP, NSO issued marriage contract for widows, NSO-issued birth certificate of the deceased AFP retirees (for parents), and NSO issued birth certificate of children and guardians, and identification card of legal beneficiaries.

Pensioners who are abroad, or physically incapacitated to appear personally, the representative shall bear a duly-notarized Special Power of Attorney,and submit additional requirements of “proof of life”, such as half-body picture holding any current newspaper of major circulation, camera film or negative used for the picture, front page of the newspaper used in the picture and photo copy of passport if the pensioner is abroad.*GPB
