Maximizing their height advantage, the BJMP Grays beat PS 1, 2&3 Greens, 94-85, to nail their second win and share the second spot with the Greens in the 1st Bacolod City Police Office Inter-Color Basketball Tournament Tuesday afternoon at the Brgy. Villamonte gym.

Jail Officer De la Cruz had a game-high 30 points to lead the Grays to victory despite the hard stance put up by the Greens mentored by Police Senior Insp. Luisito Acebuche.

Solid defense and consistency at the free throw line earned BJMP the win as they effectively kept at bay the hard fighting Greens who tried to spark a rally in the final four minutes of the game.

In the second game, PS 8 & 9 Yellow/White proved to be too strong for PS 4&5 Reds as they demolished the latter, 78-62, to register their first triumph in the tournament.

The loss pushed the Reds down to the cellar with 0-4 win-loss card while the officers in the Yellow/White team seemed to have found their winning touch.

Basketball actions continue today at the Villamonte gym with the Traffic Management Unit Yellow team trading baskets with the City Mobile Group Maroons at 2 p.m. while frontrunner Headquarters Black goes up against the Grays in the second game at 4 p.m.*NAB
